Let no one say I am not ambitious!
Yes, I mean you stupid DC guy, and you snotty work lady, and everyone else who seems to think that quitting your job is lazy and dishonorable. The last couple months I have been working harder, longer hours than I ever did back at my old cubicle job, and it looks like Ive just signed myself up for more . Yeah, Im aware of the irony of quitting my job just to become a workaholic, dont get me started.

What have I been working on? Last week I told you guys about my exciting new project with Mike, called Everywhere Connection. To recap: We want to put together a documentary answering the fundamental question: How has technology changed the way we travel? Well be filming mostly in South America and along the way Ill be blogging about our progress on the EC website and putting up interviews, videos and other fun things. If you head over there now you can see a cool poll where we asked over 20 travel bloggers about their views on technology.
Exciting stuff! But here is the rub: we cant actually afford to do this. Not yet at least, not on our own.
So were challenging ourselves to do some fundraising. The solution is actually really perfect in that it totally fits in with out EC philosophy: we are going to crowd-fund the money we need on IndieGoGo (not sure what crowd-funding is? Read my explanation here).
Making a film is expensive. Well be covering our own travel expenses of course, but in order to pay for the necessary equipment and our initial plane ticket south, we estimate we need to raise $6,000.
The challenging part? We need to do it by August 1st. Thats the deadline weve set for ourselves on IndieGoGo. 6K in 60 days. Its going to be difficult, but I have faith in this project and I think we can do it!
I feel really weird about asking you guys for money, so instead Im just going to ask that you check out the IndieGoGo page, watch our video (Mike worked really hard on it) and come to your own conclusions. If you want to contribute to making our project a reality that would be terrific (and we have some cool rewards for donors), but if thats not your thing, thats perfectly alright as well.
- Visit our IndieGoGo page, and share it with your friends
- Follow along with Everywhere Connection on our website or facebook page.
- Keep paying attention for some more, non-monetary ways you can be a part of our project!
Thank you guys for your constant support! My goal, as always, is to keep coming up with quality content to share with you guys. And its going to be a busy, busy, summer.
