Chocolate Easter eggs for the little ones at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and free Easter eggs at selected airport hotels.

HolidayExtras.com celebrated the launch of its new Easter Bundle at selected airport hotels with a gift of 200 chocolate eggs to the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital this week.

Jason Hindle from HolidayExtras.com delivered the eggs to the hospital’s play specialist Gill Bailey, he said: “It’s been such a treat to deliver these eggs for the children to enjoy this Easter.”

Angela Harris, Community and Events Fundraising Officer at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital added: “On behalf of all the patients at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, I would like to thank HolidayExtras.com for its kind donation of Easter eggs.

Why cruise with children? This cruise, on board ms Oosterdam from April 9-16, along the Mexican Riviera was our second cruise. Both cruises have been with children and with Holland America Line. On our first cruise, we only had one child, our daughter who was 13 months. This time we went with another family and we thus traveled with 4 children between the ages of 2 and 5. Before our first cruise with Solimar, we were concerned that children would annoy the other passengers.

A gathering at the family tomb for Shimi

During the month of April, each year, a Sunday gathering takes place at the family tomb (Ohaka). The occasion, known as Shimi, resembles a family reunion and picnic combined. Throughout the month, every Sunday, the roads may appear to have more traffic and many vehicles will be seen parked alongside the roads close to family tombs.

Vegetation surrounding the Ohaka is trimmed and the grounds are cleaned up by men, usually the week prior.
