Eternal flame at the Gandhi memorial (Raj Ghat)

The Mahatma Gandhi memorial in Delhi, India was one of the few places in the capital city that I wanted to make sure to visit when I travelled around India last winter. Delhi has a lot of tourist attractions and the Raj Ghat area along Mahatma Gandhi Road is a great place to visit on tour of Delhi. The road (also referred to Ring Road on some tourist maps) follows along the Yamuna River. Along the Raj Ghat route are memorials to the deceased Prime Ministers of India.

My arrival in India in November 2010 was coincidentally timed with President Obamas visit to India.

Ive been to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina only once during New Years 2009/2010. It was fun, but cold, and we could tell that the area would be entertaining to come back and visit come summertime. (Wed probably spend a lot of time playing miniature golf we saw about twelve awesome looking courses!)

Of course, Id also love to go back and visit the actual beach in Myrtle Beach, which was just lovely in December, as cold as it was. And now, theres a fantastic, 1.2 mile long boardwalk to enjoy as well! The boardwalk was opened on Saturday, May 15, 2010 (as I was getting married in Key West, Florida), and it looks fabulous.

Geiranger Fjord

DAY FIVE: FLAM & VOSS

We took an excursion from Flam to Voss along the Gudvangen Fjord.

Lunch was arranged at the historic Fleischers Hotel which specialises in Norwegian food including smalahove, a smoked sheeps head. We had marinated salmon and herring instead.

After a look at Voss we took the train back to Flam and saw some of the most spectacular scenery in Norway.

DAY SIX: SAILING HOME

Goodbye Norway and your fabulous fjords.
